Cheryl Young-Hamilton, EdD., LPC-S, RPT-S™, NCC

Hello, I'm Dr. Cheryl Young Hamilton, Outreach and Marketing Director for TxAPT, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. As the Executive Director of Hamilton Counseling and Consulting in Duncanville, Texas, I bring over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, helping children express emotions and develop coping skills through play therapy. In addition to providing therapy, I supervise and consult with counselors pursuing their RPT certification, supporting their growth in this specialized area.

On a personal note, I'm a proud mother of three adult children and have been happily married for 23 years. My personal experiences with family life have deepened my understanding of family dynamics, which enhances my connection with clients and the work I do.

In my role as Outreach and Marketing Director for TxAPT, I identify outreach opportunities throughout the year to promote play therapy to Texas chapters, mental health professionals, schools, and the public. I also create and execute a promotional plan for Play Therapy Week and help promote the annual conference and other special events.
