Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award

This award is given annually to a Registered Play Therapist who is committed to promoting social change and social justice in Texas communities. Eligible members will demonstrate a record of advocating for just and equitable conditions for diverse populations within systems (e.g., schools, community agencies, training programs, etc.) that directly impact children.

Minimum Criteria:

  1. Texas APT member in good standing

  2. Hold a clinical license and is credentialed as RPT™ or RPT-S™ (clinical experience with diverse or underprivileged communities preferred)

  3. Demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion in play therapy through clinical practice (benefitting underserved or diverse communities), scholarship (research, writing, presentations), service work, mentorship and/or advocacy for at least two years.

  4. Two letters of recommendation required. No self-nominations allowed.
