Meeting Schedule and CEUs. The Hill Country Chapter meets the second Friday of each month from 11:30 to 1pm at the Austin Child Guidance Center in Austin. The membership meeting is from 11:30am to 12pm and continuing education is offered from 12pm to 1pm. The board meets prior to the meetings from 10am to 11:30am. One CE hour is given per presentation to LMFTs, LMSWs/LCSWs, LPCs and RPTs. This is free for members and $10 for non-members to receive CE credit. Membership is $30 a year.
The biggest event of the year is the Winter Retreat which takes place every January on a Friday evening and Saturday throughout the day at the Rocky River Ranch in Wimberley, TX. The Winter Retreat registration fee ($145 for professionals and $85 for students) includes: dinner on Friday, bunk style lodging Friday night at Rocky River Ranch, breakfast and lunch on Saturday, access to all of the retreat workshops and events, as well as annual membership to HCC-TAPT.

- On January 9, 2015, a presentation was provided entitled Beyond Birds and Bees: Healthy Childhood Sexuality and How Play Therapists Can Teach Parents to Talk to Their Kids about Sex
- At the Annual Play Therapy Winter Retreat, January 31-February 1, 2015, Earley Ullrich, BSW, MSSW, LCSW presented Using Play Therapy Interventions to Teach Mindfulness to Children, and Pam Dyson, LPC, RPT, presented Taming the Worry Monster: Play Therapy for Anxious Children.
- On March 13, 2015, Katie Sillar, LMFT-Associate, presented Working Through The Barriers of Trauma in the Play Therapy Room.
- On May 8, 2015, Norma Leben, LCSW, RPT-S, presented Creative Use of Play Therapy Games to Address Children’s Stealing Misbehavior.
Tom Hoeffner Play Therapy Stipend
Each year, the Tom Hoeffner Play Therapy Stipend is awarded ($250.00 each) to two recipients, one for a licensed professional therapist and one for an intern or a student. The stipends are intended to assist the recipients attend the TAPT or the APT conference, or another professional development event that promotes play therapy.
