April 3-5, 2020, Austin, Texas – CANCELLED
Dear Texas Play Therapy Community,
It is with heavy hearts that we must cancel our annual Texas Association for Play Therapy annual conference, scheduled for April 3-5, 2020. We are deeply disappointed to miss our annual collective of dedicated play therapists, trainers, and vendors. Still, as healthcare providers, we must put the health and safety of all people before our personal interests. We know that many of you may feel sad, frustrated, discouraged, or confused by the loss of this important connection to our play therapy community. We encourage you to connect with others in our field and find the compassionate support that we so lovingly offer to our clients. Please know that we did not take this decision lightly, considering it carefully from every angle, and eventually concluded that we had only one real option. Countless volunteer hours were poured into the creation of Heroes of Play 2020. We suspect many more volunteer hours will be dedicated to mitigating losses and managing our organization effectively. We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate this unprecedented situation.
As a board, we are committed to providing the best play therapy continuing education our state has to offer. We are already working on alternative educational options to provide later this year. We will advise you all as soon as we have finalized the details. Our first task, though, is to complete the cancellation of this annual conference. Refunds of registration fees will be issued within one week. Please email [email protected] if you have not received your refund by the end of this time. Contact Holiday Inn (or other hotel) directly to cancel your lodging.
Thank you all for your dedication to our field, our clients, and one another. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Our very best,
Texas Association for Play Therapy
